Description
A cake turntable, also known as a cake decorating turntable or cake stand, is a revolving platform used by bakers and cake decorators to easily and efficiently frost, decorate, and work on cakes. It typically consists of a circular base with a top platform that can spin, allowing you to rotate the cake as you work on it. Cake turntables come in various sizes and materials, such as plastic or metal, and may have features like a non-slip base and a locking mechanism to hold the cake in place when needed.
The primary purpose of a cake turntable is to make it easier to apply icing, fondant, and decorations to a cake. By spinning the cake, you can maintain a consistent angle and have better access to different parts of the cake without having to constantly reposition yourself. This tool is commonly used in both professional bakeries and home kitchens to create beautifully decorated cakes and even, smooth frosting finishes.
When using a cake turntable, it’s important to secure the cake properly and keep the platform clean for best results. It can greatly improve the efficiency and aesthetics of your cake decorating projects.
